Units get experience by winning battles in colonies, outposts, or relics. Each unit that accumulates experience will get stronger. Experience can easily change the outcome of a battle that would normally be hopeless. For example, an EMP Trooper with enough XP could even kill a Martian Marksman!

How to Calculate Unit Experience

numberOfSoldiersDead*10 + enemyXP*0.05 = XP gained

What Unit Experience does

Unit experience differs for each chassis type. For example it takes 30 experience for an infantry unit to gain a level, 50 experience for a vehicle to gain a level, and 70 experience for a mech to gain a level.

After a unit has gone up a level it is rewarded with stats (inf/veh/mech):

Level 1 + 1/2/3 HP
Level 2 + 1/2/3 HP
Level 3 + 1/2/3 Damage
Level 4 + 1/2/3 HP
Level 5 + 1/2/3 HP
Level 6 + 1 Range
Level 7 + 1/2/3 HP
Level 8 + 1/2/3 HP
Level 9 + 1/2/3 Damage
Level 10 + 1/2/3 HP
Level 11 + 1/2/3 HP
Level 12 + 1 Range

When reaching levels 6 and 12, your unit(s) will receive an additional range point, the maximum range a unit can have is 5 range.
